It is normal that most of us are in a situation where our family members are the one's sucking out our positivity in life. We love them and they're so important to us. Surely we only want the best for them. But in some cases, they also become the people who puts a lot of negativity in our lives. Some of many people I know asks me how to deal with it especially when you have a goals to reach and you can't focus. It is stressful and ain't getting you further in life.
So what is the best thing to do?
This topic so complicated and we can
talk about it the whole day. But I can only give what is essential to make this topic shorter. Simply spend less time with them. But that doesn't mean to cut them out of your life. Just minimize your time with the person who's pulling you down and giving you the negativity. Unless, of course, in some situation where you experience severe cases which involves physical abuse etc. That's another story.
But spending less time with them will make a good change. It won't be easy but you can do it.
Our positivity in life and our drive to reach our goals are beneficial to us and also to our family. So don't feel guilty when there are times you choose avoid negative conversation with them. Or be at a family gathering if you think it will only cause you stress. It won't help you and it won't help your family as well. Remember that you're just doing this because you love them and you don't want yourself to be dried up by the negativities that sucks all your energy in life. You have a goal. And you have a life ahead of you. And if you become your best, it will also bring the best for your family.
